A rare opportunity to acquire a cased pair of exceptional quality pistols with all accessories by Chappell of Harleston, Norfolk. Samuel Chappell is first listed as a gunsmith in Harleston in 1830. Then in 1836 he is listed as gunsmith, whitesmith and as a baker! He continues to appear as a gunmaker until at least 1877.
From the tithes in 1839 it shows that he owned several properties in Harleston with his shop and house being at the end of The Thoroughfare.
Samuel was part of an extensive family and an Edward Chappell (possibly his son) is recorded as also working as a gunsmith until 1896.
