Superb pair of cased percussion belt pistols by Chappell of Harleston, Norfolk, having hexagonal barrels, fitted belt clip and captive ebony handled ramrod. The acanthus scroll engraved decoration is of the highest quality to the hammers, action, barrel, trigger guard and ramrod end. The walnut stock is particularly fine with fluted butt and the finest chequering that we have seen. The fitted case also holds the turn screw, nipple key, small mould and powder flask. c. 1835.
